Board joints and corners
Apply a continuous ribbon of ARDEX CA 20 P, Casco AquaSeal or Sikaflex AT-Connection (depending on the product family selected for installation work) adhesive compound to all horizontal and vertical joints between the boards in the installation phase. Apply the adhesive onto the edge of the first board and press the two boards together.
Make sure the next board, installed above the first board, is securely fixed to the ‘teeth’ on the top edge of the Z bracket, thus securing the bottom edge of the board. There should be a small amount of excess sealant extruding from the seam at this point. Use a putty knife or a finger to smooth the surplus sealant evenly over the seam.
In the corners, leave a gap of approximately 2–3 mm between the boards and fill it with ARDEX CA 20 P, Casco AquaSeal or Sikaflex AT-Connection sealing compound. Fill the gap carefully up to the surface of the board. Smooth any surplus paste evenly onto the surface of the board using a putty knife. It is important to smooth and level all surplus adhesive clumps carefully during the installation stage.
Apply ARDEX 8+9 or ARDEX S 1-K waterproofing compound to all wall-floor joints, vertical corners and visible Tulppa O bracket heads. Affix ARDEX SK 12 reinforcing tape to fresh waterproofing compound so that no pockets of air remain between the tape and the adhesive. Cover the tape completely with the waterproofing compound. If there is any edge/profile damage, the profile can be fixed using the waterproofing compound and the ARDEX SK 12 reinforcing tape.
Apply AquaStop waterproofing compound to the wall-floor joint, vertical corners and any visible Tulppa O brackets so that the area covered with AquaStop is equal to the width of the WetStop KL sealing tape. Then affix the tape to the fresh waterproofing compound. Make sure no pockets of air remain under the tape. Finish by applying a layer of Casco AquaStop waterproofing compound on top of the WetStop so that the area treated with AquaStop extends 50 mm over the edges of the WetStop onto the Tulppa board. In wall-floor joints the WetStop sealing tape should extend 60 mm above the floor and cover the Tulppa O brackets near the floor.
The day after installation, apply Tulppa sealing tape to wall-floor joints and all inside and outside corners (vertical joints included). Affix the tape carefully to the surface of the board using a roller.
