The Tulppa board can be attached to timber or metal frames or, using grout, to stone walls. For more information, please see the Other surface materials section. For 20 mm boards or thicker, a 600 mm support beam spacing is adequate. Partitioning walls with timber or metal framing should be built normally with the vertical edges of the boards attached to the frame beams. For fixtures and bathroom accessories, additional support battens (fixture supports) are installed. It is a good idea to make a note of their position before starting to install the boards, as this information is often useful during the work.
Lightweight fixtures, such as towel hooks and toilet paper holders, can be attached directly onto the tile surface using the ARDEX CA 20 P, Casco Xtremfix or Sikabond-T2 adhesive compounds if the tiles are sufficiently large and strong. See mounting instructions in the Special applications section.
